The artistic value of an era becomes evident through the evolution of art over time. To mark the 20th anniversary of the New Age Gallery and the opening of its new museum in Taiwan, an exhibition themed "The Past • Present • Future" was held from March 6 to March 28, 2011. This exhibition showcased the development of Chinese art since the 20th century, reflecting the gallery's dedication to professionalism and long-term artistic vision.
The exhibition focused on the development of Chinese art (both mainland and Taiwan) from the 20th century to the present, divided into five periods. It highlighted the contributions of notable artists such as Xu Beihong, Liu Haisu, Lin Fengmian, Chang Yu, Zao Wou-Ki, Chu Teh-Chun, Wang Huaiqing, Luo Zhongli, Huang Mingzhe, Zhang Xiaogang, Cai Guoqiang, Xu Bing, Li Hui, Wang Jie, and Guan Yong.
Organized over a year, the exhibition included masterpieces from various artists, presenting a blend of historical and contemporary works. It aimed to trace the evolution of Chinese art, emphasizing the significant changes and values across different periods.
Since its establishment, the New Age Gallery has focused on cultivating contemporary art across both sides of the Taiwan Strait. By 2007, it expanded to Beijing's 798 Art District, and in early 2011, it opened a new museum in Taiwan, further supporting the development of young Chinese artists.
In the new century, as Chinese contemporary art gains prominence, the New Age Gallery's efforts in organizing such exhibitions hold great historical and contemporary significance.
